Why is a vision so important and why have I called this visionflow touchstone?

Creating a powerful vision helps bring people together, it sets a future goal, provides motivation and helps create the company culture.

If your business focuses on building a great customer experience this will help set the company culture towards one of support towards this common objective.

Some businesses are though more like command and control with a reliance on a heavy managment hand. This will could stifle the people at the coal face who often have a much better understanding of what to do if they are allowed and encouraged.

Your vision and the structures which you form have a huge impact on your people’s behaviour. Its the structures combined with your vusion which drive behaviour and supports people who are in their flow. Loving their work is the natural outcome.

For too long management has relied on targets as a motivator. Whilst some targets may work in the short term, over the long term they can get in the way and create silos within the organisation. Its these silos which end up with department fighting department.
